ProductsPower Distribution and Control Container and Shelter Solutions Power Distribution and ControlDytecna Systems Engineering provides design and build services for bespoke and special purpose power distribution solutions. Solutions are designed to meet environmental and EMC specifications of military, communications and transport installations. PCU DCOur Power Control Unit is a military vehicle specification DC power remote switching and monitoring unit. It accepts switch commands from direct digital inputs or via the Mil-CANbus and switches DC powered units on and off as well as monitoring for short and open circuit failures. When used with our VMU technology it can be configured to take switching commands from the VMU alarm outputs on the Mil-CAN or CANbus. The construction of the PCU includes ruggedised aluminium enclosure with Mil-C-38999 connectors indicated here, operation between -40 and +55° C, and survivability of 50G shock loading. The following Military Standards have been allowed for in the PCU design:
PDU DCThe DC Power Distribution Unit offers 24 configurable channels of typically 5, 12 & 24VDC at 5A total load in a 1U 19" form factor shown here and is fully CANbus enabled.  PDU ACThe AC Power Distribution Unit is a remote high power switching device with up to 16 channels of 110-240VAC at 32A peak load. The integrated unit is controlled by a remote CANbus module via the digital inputs and will provide digital status feedback. Self powered Solid State relays are employed and self limiting current and/or local temperature protection is standard. Built to BS2754 standard and BS7671 compliant the 19" 3U rack mount form factor includes IEC320 connectors. The construction of both PDUs includes operation between -10 and +55° C, 19" rack form factor aluminium enclosures and survivability of commensurate shock and vibration loading. We also provide modification of COTS power products; for example upgrading of commercial power distribution units to meet more demanding operating and environmental specifications. VMU-T provides the same functionality as VMU-10 but with the addition of embedded GPS and the option of GSM/GPRS. All VMUs are designed as standard to work on European standard J1939 and MIL-CAN CANBus. Versions suitable for use on the US standard J1708 databus are also available.
BMU is a Battery Monitoring Unit that provides true battery condition testing through multiple frequency impedance testing on each 12v cell. In addition it measures battery temperature and voltage. It includes direct inputs for current sensors if required. The BMU interfaces to the HUMS unit via CAN Bus.

Syen GMU is a HUMS unit designed specifically for generator monitoring. In addition to the ability to provide engine condition monitoring, it measures and records the quality of the power generated. It can be used for maintenance as well as ‘Power by the Hour’ contract support.
