Logistic Support AnalysisLogistic Support Analysis (LSA) is the principal tool of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) and is the primary means by which the objectives of ILS are achieved. LSA activities consist of a series of analytical tasks that are listed in DEFSTAN 00-60 and will ensure that:
PlanningThe key to a productive and cost effective LSA programme is the tailoring of the LSA tasks and subtasks, this is done to fit the project needs. All available resources are concentrated on those tasks that will be most beneficial. LSA tailoring is mandatory for all MoD projects. The Military ILS Manager (MILSM) identifies the technical complexity of the equipment and the level of design freedom that exists and will, in accordance with the guidelines, tailor the LSA requirements to meet the technical solution being proposed. Our project ILS Manager, once tasked, will consider how this tailoring has taken place and will comply with the LSA tasks requested or submit a justification to add or delete from the list provided. He/she will detail this in the LSA Plan that is submitted as part of our tender submission. Throughout the project, the LSA tasks will be undertaken in a chronological order to deliver the LSA programme in accordance with the LSA strategy developed for the project. Mitigation StrategyGiven Dytecna's track record of delivering equipment against MoD contracts we have extensive experience in delivering ILS programmes from tailored LSA solutions that meet the needs of the MoD. Dytecna is also able to produce tailored LSA solutions on behalf of Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) for inclusion in tender documentation. |
