Obsolescence Management

Without a robust planning strategy for through life management, managing Obsolescence is almost pointless.

The rate at which technology is advancing and the longevity of our customers' capital investments make obsolescence the greatest threat and cost driver.

Dytecna have an experienced and versatile obsolescence management team well versed in the strategies necessary to mitigate its impact and, in the case of MoD equipment, ensure compliance with BS7000 part 5 (Guide to Managing Obsolescence).

Planning

We conduct an obsolescence risk assessment and prepare obsolescence management plans all based on likely impact and probability. We advise on the strategy best suited for your requirement and whether a reactive or proactive stance would best suit the capability's profile and life cycle. We appoint a Manager to oversee its implementation and maintenance and undertake an agreed review policy to ensure an up-to-date position is available at the agreed interval.

We advise and manage either reactive or proactive amelioration strategies. The latter, offering a more cost effective way to manage the problem as well as reducing the risk to operational availability, is always our advised option.
